MOZZAQUATRO, Caroline de Oliveira et al. Reflections about attended demand of a service of psychology in a free judicial assistance. Aletheia [online]. 2015, n.46, pp. 159-173. ISSN 1413-0394.

The participation of Psychology in the legal field is not recent, however, it is becoming noticeable the importance of this articulation which can be seen, for example, in the mediation practice. The objective of this paper is to characterize the satisfied demand of a Psychology service, which has mediation as one of its activities on a Legal Aid Center of a federal institution of higher education. The research had a quantitative character, and was conducted through a documental analysis. The results indicated that women were the majority of the demand for the service. The main demand was related to child support, but custody, children visits, and marital separation were also present. After all, it is highlighted that the approximation between Law and Psychology can provide a more appropriate handling of cases involving family disputes, by allowing the deconstruction of rigid family roles, which favors a positive conflict resolution.
