The objective of this study was understanding how the relationship between mother and baby features itself, facing the child feeding difficulties. The study design of multiple cases was used with three adult mothers and their babies seven to eight months, they had feeding difficulties, found with the Symptom Check List. Were also used: Clinical data sheet and Sociodemographic data; M.I.N.I. - Plus, to identify exclusion criteria; Interview about the experience of motherhood and Interaction Assessment Procedure. It was analyzed the experience of being a mother, breastfeeding, the transition from liquid to solid food, the difficulties in relation to food and the mother-infant relationship. The results showed that the introduction of complementary foods can be felt as an interference in the mother-infant interaction, representing the end of breastfeeding and indicates the need for adjustments in respect of the pair.
