Abstract

OLIVEIRA-MONTEIRO, Nancy Ramacciotti de; SCACHETTI, Rodolfo Eduardo; FRABETTI, Stephanie  and  AZNAR-FARIAS, Maria. Externalizing problems and prosociality. Aletheia [online]. 2015, n.47-48, pp. 155-168. ISSN 1413-0394.

This study investigated externalizing problems and prosociality among adults in different psychosocial conditions. Two hundred and thirty nine subjects aging 18-59 years were evaluated using Adult Self-Report (ASR) and Prosociality Measurement Scale (EMPA). Descriptive analysis did not display tendency to externalizing problems in the sample. At the same time, prosocial behavior related to 'help', 'sharing', 'care' and 'empathy' were self-reported with medium and high level tendencies. Inferential analysis did not indicate significant difference in surveyed data. No correlations was found among data acquired from applied instruments. This article contributes to studies regarding the theme of adulthood and prosocial behavior, in a scenario of rare publications about it.

Keywords : Adults; Externalizing problems; Prosociality.
