Abstract

AZAMBUJA, Carolina Viecili; CARDOSO, Ariela Santana  and  SILVA, Ramon Wolkmer Silvestri da. Maternal postpartum depression and babies with malformations: systematic review. Aletheia [online]. 2016, vol.49, n.2, pp. 30-37. ISSN 1413-0394.

The maternal postpartum depression (M-PPD) reaches important part of the population, becoming a public health problem. Although there research with mothers and babies in the postpartum period, mothers who have babies with birth defects are often excluded from the sample. A systematic review of articles published in the last ten years that included babies with birth defects and their relationship to the development of M-PPD was performed. Databases PsycNET, PubMed and Embase were used in the research; only articles published in English, in periodicals and research with human beings and control group were included. At the end, only those who met the inclusion criteria and relate M-DPP and babies with birth defects were included. Two double-blind judges made the trial of the articles. No article closed inclusion criteria for complete reading, however the abstract of all of them has been read, for later exclusion. Thus, there is need for studies to be conducted with babies with birth defects and ratio of M-DPP development.
