Shelter is the term used to designate the institution that protects children and adolescents at personal risk situation and / or social risk. The children’s story is permeated with difficult situations, mainly about abandonment. These can be worked by Fairy Tales, which are able to translate emotions, feelings and redraw the mental representations. A prophylactic treatment group was conducted with three children in residential care situation. The aim of this study was to understand the impact of using the Fairy Tale in the children’s abandonment representations. The regressive defenses prevailed, the spin-off and the desire and the hope of having a family. During the meetings, the mental representations have changed.
