NUDELMANN, Mateus Martins  e  VIVIAN, Aline Groff. Prevalence of sleep disorders and associated factors in children aged 0 to 3 years of a district in the south of Brazil. Aletheia [online]. 2019, vol.52, n.2, pp. 52-66. ISSN 1413-0394.

The aim of the present study was to verify the prevalence of sleep disorders in children from 0 to 3 years old and associated factors. This was a cross-sectional study in which 47 babies from Vila União Operária, in Canoas/RS, were evaluated. The data were collected in households of families, where those responsible answered a questionnaire regarding sleep disorders. The prevalence of reported sleep disorder in babies was 40,4% and the associated factors were: babies who have trouble to fall asleep more often, mothers who do not receive enough support in the care of the baby, with lack of appetite, who sleep bad, with a loss of interest in things, who tired easily and with suspected Common Mental Disorder. Lack of support from mothers in caring for their children and maternal mental health are factors associated with sleep disorder in babies.
