STEIN, Fernanda Schommer; SIMIONATO, Renata  and  SCHNEIDER, Daniela da Silva. Transcending borders: experience of brazilian nurses in Portugal. Aletheia [online]. 2020, vol.53, n.1, pp. 07-12. ISSN 1413-0394.

Introduction: Multiprofessional health residency programs in Brazil provide opportunities for the training of professional nurses in health settings. Transcending health reality by enabling international mobilization contributes to academic and professional development. The purpose of this study is to describe the experience of nurses in a hospital in Portugal. Methodology: This is an experience report of resident nurses in relation to an international internship period. Results and discussion: We were able to observe several differences between the roles performed by professional nurses in Brazil and Portugal. In addition, the organization of the category and its work routines also differ from the Brazilian one. Final considerations: Opportunity for international experiences implies broadening cultural and technical horizons and developing critical-reflective thinking.
