Abstract

COUTO, Maria Laura de Oliveira  and  KANTORSKI, Luciane Prado. Senses produced by voice hearers about their experiences with voices. Aletheia [online]. 2021, vol.54, n.1, pp. 64-73. ISSN 1413-0394.  http://dx.doi.org/DOI10.29327/226091.54.1-7.

ABSTRACT the present study aims to know the senses produced by voices hearers about their experiences with voices. This is a qualitative exploratory research. It was done through semi-structured interviews conducted with sixteen voice hearers users of a Psychosocial Care Center in the city of Pelotas/RS. It was evidenced that the sense that the voice hearer attributes to voices is subjective, individual, and dependent on external factors, such as the discourses to which this voice hearer is exposed in his historical and social reality over time. It is clear the importance of not minimizing the characteristics and contents of voices in order to help the voice hearers to establish meanings and possible relationships with their life histories.

Keywords : voice hearers; auditory alucination; meaning production.
