Abstract

GIOLO, Aline Machado  and  GARCEZ, Lívia. Inclusion of autistic children in regular education. Aletheia [online]. 2022, vol.55, n.1, pp. 168-191. ISSN 1413-0394.  http://dx.doi.org/10.29327/226091.55.1-9.

ABSTRACT This article aimed to present a systematic review of the Brazilian scientific production on the inclusion of autistic children in regular education, published between 2010 and 2020. The searches were conducted in the databases SciELO, BIREME, Redalyc, EBSCO and Scopus, with the descriptor "the inclusion of autistic children". After the assessment of the studies, and in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this research, eight articles were selected. The main results indicated that most empirical studies employed quantitative methods and sought to investigate whether the relationship between regular schools and the inclusion of autistic children in this environment occurs positively or negatively. Another important aspect was the lack of preparation in regular teaching when faced with the inclusion of these children, in the sense that teachers don’t feel capable enough to work with them. Finally, the most relevant findings were discussed and new research themes were proposed on this topic

Keywords : autism; inclusion; regular schools.
