ABSTRACT Through An Integrative review, we seek to identify, withintheBrazilianscientificproduction, articles that intersect the themes of mourning and old age, from the perspective of psychoanalysis. In this way, it aims to establish the focus given to the elder lyand what is the vision presented by psychoanalysis for a work with this population that is more prone to ruptures and losses. Thus, it is recognized that there is an identification of death and finitude linked to the figure of the aging subject, a mentality adopted by the logic of consumption. Thus, it was identified how the numerous losses combined with aging cause a grieving process in theelderly. This Morning, according to psychoanalysis, can be defined as the affect resulting from the loss of a libidinal object. Thus, there is the importance of monitoring the elderly that aims to clear the path of desire and create new perspectives on life, especially at this stage of development, which, like all others, has particular characteristics and challenges
