Abstract

MACHADO, Marília Novais da Mata. The feminist, her mother, children and grandchildren. Interações [online]. 2002, vol.7, n.13, pp. 101-111. ISSN 1413-2907.

If it is assumed that the women's liberation movements are now facing an actual impasse, then it is possible to question their successful story as well as the end of patriarchy. For the purpose of this essay, a feminist abstract figure, whose life is firmly imbricated with that of her grandmothers, mother, children and grandchildren, has then be created. Paradoxically, the more this feminist figure becomes self-sufficient, the more she risks to fail due to her incapacity to get help, so self-confident she seems to be.

Keywords : Gender; Women's liberation movements; Generations theory; Patriarchy; Feminism.
