Abstract

SCORTEGAGNA, Paula  and  LEVANDOWSKI, Daniela Centenaro. Analisys of referral of children with school complaints by the public schools in Caxias do Sul. Interações [online]. 2004, vol.9, n.18, pp. 127-152. ISSN 1413-2907.

This paper analyses the referral of children with school complaints to a Psychological Service Program by public schools of Caxias do Sul. One hundred and eleven referrals pertaining to the waiting lists of years 2002 and 2003 of Junior and High School were analyzed. Four categories of complaints were found: learning, behavioral and emotional problems and problems related to school issues. The results indicated a large number of referrals and a particularly larger incidence among boys. It also indicated a lack of reflection by teachers concerning the school context. The study suggests the need to work together with the teachers to clarify the work of psychologists and to reflect on the teaching-learning process, especially on the role of the school and the teacher.
