Abstract

RODRIGUEZ KAUTH, Angel. The decrease of captive vote: personalisation of politics. Interações [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.19, pp. 177-196. ISSN 1413-2907.

This article analyzes the ways in which modern technologies and mass communication strategies influence the discourse of politicians. It suggests that they contribute to high electoral volatility, that is, to a decrease of captive votes. After several political and philosophical considerations, this paper concludes by asserting the media is not to be blamed, but political leaders who have no discourse to offer.
