Abstract

MARIA FERNANDA, Diogo  and  COUTINHO, Maria Chalfin. The dialectic of inclusion/exclusion and the women’s work. Interações [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.21, pp. 121-142. ISSN 1413-2907.

Having as base the conception that a subject is constituted in a dialectic-historic manner, we’ll discuss in this article the categories work and gender, articulating with the dialectic of inclusion/exclusion. In face of the new changes in the world of work, in a period dominated by unemployment, sub-employment and uncertainty, countless workers were excluded from the productive cycle. The women belong to a key category for this study, since there are some specifications that limit, undermine, and disqualify their insertion in the labor force. The new economical order didn’t propitiate equality of conditions among the genders, instead of this, it reinforced hierarchies, inequalities and asymmetries. This article offers to discuss the mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion that captivate the female workers are and how the rules of domination of gender that are produced and reproduced historically are processed in various social levels. To denaturalize these plots makes possible the women to conquer action power and representation and to question the social place that they occupy.
