Abstract

FIOROTT, Juliana Gomes et al. Social representations of disruption in adoption: tensioning and possible strategies. Estud. psicol. (Natal) [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.1, pp. 68-81. ISSN 1413-294X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22491/1678-4669.20210008.

The concept of adoption has been changing over time. Despite being an irrevocable measure, the return of children and / or adolescents during adoption is recurrent. The disruption is the act of abandonment of the adoption made by the adopters and in these cases, these children or adolescents suffer a new rupture of bonds and return to the host institutions. The present research had the objective to understand the social representations about the disruption of children and adolescents during adoption to professionals of the Judiciary and Shelters. A qualitative study was carried out, which consisted of in-depth interview with 30 professionals. Data analysis was performed with the aid of IRaMuTeQ software. As a result, the constituent dimensions of the social representations of devolution in adoption and peculiarities in the statements of professionals in Shelters were identified when compared to professionals from the Judiciary.
