This paper aims to describe the construction of the pedagogic project of the Course in Psychology at the Methodist University of Piracicaba (UNIMEP). To this end, it briefly describes the current context of higher education, with special attention to decisive factors affecting the formal education of the psychologist. It also presents curriculum innovation as a methodological resource for the construction of the pedagogic project, as well as the principal procedures employed to ensure the participation of the course's entire social body during the process. At the same time, it indicates elements present in the context of the institution which influenced the development of the process. Finally, it points out the main results obtained in addition to possible conclusions and the definition of directions to be taken.
