Abstract

SCHNEIDER, Daniela Ribeiro. Psychology graduation in the Mercosul: perspectives of Latin-American integration. Temas psicol. [online]. 1998, vol.6, n.1, pp. 69-74. ISSN 1413-389X.

The formation of Mercosul, in 1991, was based on the contemporary context of globalization of economy. The deal was made without any consultation to the civil society and with complete lack of care towards the social and cultural matters involved. Psychology entities of the contries included, concerned about the developed situation, began to organize themselves by the end of year 1993, starting the integration process of Psychology in the Mercosul. The approach of such process is to fight against the mercantile and excluding nature of the globalization policies, from which Mercosul takes part, emphasizing the effective "integration" perspective, meaning, the strengthening of international solidarity. From these point of view, the Mercosul Psychology Graduation Committee started its work describing the reality of graduation in each country. It was ascertained the differences existant between the countries, as well as in the interior of them. From that on it was started the discussion of minimum criteria that would allow a standardization in the graduation of the psychologist in the region, having as a principle the quality warranty of graduation and of his commitment with the latin-american reality.
