Abstract

SAFRA, Gilberto. The sacred experience and the constitution of the self. Temas psicol. [online]. 1998, vol.6, n.2, pp. 147-151. ISSN 1413-389X.

In the analytical situation it is possible to observe that the individual conceives the sacred dimension from the matrix of the different experiences that brought forth the transformation of the self. It is in the first reality sense - the subjective reality - that the sacred sense is founded in the individual's self. It is in this reality sense that happens the enchantment that transforms the self. This allows one to experiment this kind of experience throughout his or her life. I affirm that the sacred experience emerges before the individual has any kind of representation about the divinity. The sacred sense is related to the ontic dimension of the self. We may comprehend the religious feelings as a tentative to reach the sacred, whith the urge to reach the potency of being. The divine is conceived as the absolute element, where is possible to see the reflection of the style of being of the individual, and where it would be possible to have, eternally, the jubilous and the enchantment experiences.
