This article presents a synthesis of data concerning the Brazilian adaptation of the WISC-III (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition) developed during master e doctor researches of the main author of the present study. The results showed that the original psychometric characteristics of the test appear also with the Brazilian samples, although some difficulties have arisen in the case of the verbal subtests and changes are necessary particularly in the Information and Vocabulary subtests
