This study focuses the social constitution of people who are regularly attended by a multiple disabilities care center. The theoretical framework considers the original social psychological processes. We present and discuss aspects of the history of special education, concerning the discourse and ideologies, identifying its implications for Brazilian educational policies. It is presented an empirical work in a classroom with eight adolescents (13 to 25 years old), of both sexes, at an institution for multiple disabled persons. The results of this empirical work were analyzed. Discourse and gestures interpretations were used for the discussion of aspects of the social constitution of those subjects, highlighting their social history.
