Abstract

ARRUDA, Angela. Change and social representation. Temas psicol. [online]. 2000, vol.8, n.3, pp.241-247. ISSN 1413-389X.

This text deals with the role played by the social representations in studies of the social change. The latter is seen here as a modification not only from the synchronic perspective, but also from the diachronic perspective, in the course of time, within the representation itself (Rouquette, 1998), leading to broader social thoughts, and thus expressing modifications in the society. In this sense, it is suggested that the Social Psychology and the History should approach in order to meet this challenge, which lays halfway between the 1'histoire des mentalités and psychosociology

Keywords : social representation; change; methodology; history.
