Abstract

CREPALDI, Maria Aparecida  and  MORE, Carmen Leontina Ojeda Ocampo. Psychological assistance to families in clinics and communities: ethical and methodological questions. Temas psicol. [online]. 2002, vol.10, n.3, pp. 201-209. ISSN 1413-389X.

Considering the psychological assistance of the systemic relational approach, addressed to popular social-economical classes, realized in a Brazilian university clinic-school and in the community, this work intends to relate and discuss the methodological questions that contribute for the effectiveness of an intervention that tries to keep the interaction between the Clinic and the Community and their assistance agencies, having in mind the promotion of a psychosocial development of a familiar group and the quality improvement of their interactions with the social support net. The focus of this discussion addresses the ethical question in the assistance, since the therapeutic team faces what is denominated in the present paper the "ethical dilemmas", or rather, situations that put for the professionals the necessity to make decisions to protect the family members from drastic situations, as in cases of family violence and sexual abuses without infringing the ethical code of the psychologists.

Keywords : familiar therapy; ethic in the clinical assistance; community.
