Resumo

The analysis of 419 masters dissertations and doctorate theses from graduate programs in Education and Psychology offered by 27 Brazilian universities, about special education, showed that 68 (16,3%) focused on human resources development - professional and familiar. The studies emphasized the teacher's initial and continued education (50%), multidisciplinary teams (14%), professionals from areas related to special education (29%) and pupil's relatives (7%). The researches revealed limitations in the initial preparation of specialized and non-specialized educators, for the distance from educational reality or the inadequacy of subjects and practices related do special needs. The relevance and positive results of programs addressed to continued education for professionals, paraprofessionals and families were stressed in the studies.
