The authors describe and discuss the process of accreditation and evaluation of Graduate Programs - specifically the Psychology Graduate programs in Brazil, a process carried out by a governmental agency of the Ministry of Education (CAPES). A brief description of the most important features of the accreditation and evaluation process are described. The authors also discuss three fundamental aspects of the evaluation: the committee responsible for the evaluation (who conducts the process?), the characteristics and procedure employed (how the evaluation is conducted?), and the criteria and parameters for the final result ( what is important for the evaluation?)
