This study analyzed the perceptions of public school student's in Campinas about risk and protection factors. Two question were elaboreted so that they ponder and answered regarding what, in their point of view, makes them feel and what the do not like in their lives. Twenty-seven children and adolescents, betwen 6 and 15 years old participated in this research. the answers were analyzed and organized in categories by meaning. This study considered risk and protection factors, in different dimensions: familiar discussions, relationship cheating, violence. deaths, swearing, lackness of material stuff. As protection factor, participants indicated mainly: friendship, dialogue, freedom to play, school, church etc. Some students understand protecton as lack of risk, being this lack associated mainly to economic difficulties
