Undergraduate education in Brazil has been going through important structural changes in the last years. Since the regularization of psychology degree, it comprises the following: Bachelor of psychology, professor education program and psychology degree. This current paper aims to discuss the specific psychology professor education program, analyzing the status of this degree within the Brazilian general context. A reflection was made about the professor education program profile, approaching the course syllabus and the professors´ performances as well as their real status in the labor market. It was evident the relation between the mentioned program with education system, once there´s the possibility that the future professor have a role in the basic education, mainly in high school. This study enabled us to a conclusion that has guaranteed rights to a teacher work. Nevertheless, in order to occupy the educational positions reserved for those professionals by the enforcement of the LDB - national law for education base and policies - it is necessary an improved level of preparation of these professors compatible with the demands from the current labor market.
