Abstract

ASSUNCAO, Maria Madalena Silva de. The Educational Psychology Didactic Books: Clues for Analysis for the Teachers Formation (1920 - 1960). Temas psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.15, n.1, pp. 69-84. ISSN 1413-389X.

This historical theoretical and conceptual work aims to analyse the contents presented in the educational psychology books which were published and adopted in the teachers formation of "Curso Normal" courses in the 20s and 60s of the XX century. By analysing the contents listed in these books, which present a special emphasis on the organicist as well as on the funcionalist conception of the subject, it is possible to verify a contribution from educational psychology to the establishment of psychology as a science. The topics discussed in the referred period were generally common, and little changed, among the authors. The analysis was based on books of 11 (eleven) authors coming from different states of Brazil. It is worth to enhance that the study selected 11 (eleven) different books and 41 (forty-one) different editions. In order to make the research possible, the books were categorized under the decade they were published and edited to draw comparison of titles and authors.
