The text informs results of an investigation about the Regional Psychology Board institution of the seventh region (CRP-07), in 1974, in the context of the military dictatorship in Brazil. Through the analysis of ex-councilors narratives and through documents and images examination it was possible to comprehend strategies of the installation and management of the CRP-07 referring to the historical context, to the achievement of formal spaces to the profession, to the collective struggle and to the preoccupations with the professional development in Psychology. The historical and political peculiarities of this period, favors reflections about the profession especially concerning the social places it has occupied since it has been considered official, in 1962.
