Abstract

LEME, Maria Isabel da Silva. Pre adolescents' perceptions about the authority of the family and school over interpersonal conflict. Temas psicol. [online]. 2009, vol.17, n.2, pp. 359-370. ISSN 1413-389X.

This study examines violence that can result from interpersonal conflict among peers at school using as reference empirical data collected by the author. As this institution attributes the occurrence of conflicts to the lack of education from the family, we analyzed data from the literature that address the perception that the pre-adolescent has from the authority of the family and the school on the issue. Most studies show that children and young people recognize and legitimize the right of parents and school to intervene on moral issues, such as the use of violence to solve interpersonal conflicts, safeguarding, however, their right to autonomy in personal and conventional matters.

Keywords : Conflict; School; Family; Authority.
