Abstract

WIELEWICKI, Annie. Child behavioral problems: importance and limitations of the characterizing studies in Brazilian clinic-schools. Temas psicol. [online]. 2011, vol.19, n.2, pp. 379-389. ISSN 1413-389X.

The aim of this paper is to characterize, through the pertinent literature sought, the population of children attended in Brazilian clinic-schools regarding gender, age and the main complaints of the children's behavior. For this purpose, a research was held using the databases Scielo, Pepsic, Google Scholar, Lilacs with the keywords: Psychology clinic-school, child behavioral problems, characteristics of the child population, infant clientele characterization. All the abstracts, from ten years ago until the present day, were read. Those which characterized the infant population were selected and those which restricted themselves to academic complaints were excluded. With this being completed, eighteen articles were selected for analysis and the results indicated the predominancy of boys from six to nine years old. The main reasons for referral were aggressive behavior and learning disabilities.

Keywords : Psychology clinic-school; Child behavioral problems; Characteristics of the child population; Infant clientele characterization.
