Abstract

WIELEWICKI, Annie; GALLO, Alex Eduardo  and  GROSSI, Renata. Clinical practice instruments: CBCL as a functional analysis and intervention planning facilitator. Temas psicol. [online]. 2011, vol.19, n.2, pp. 513-523. ISSN 1413-389X.

It is widely documented on literature the use of varied instruments - questionnaires, inventories, tests - on research as on behavioral clinical practice. In this paper we highlight the use of CBCL as a facilitator instrument for functional analysis of encopresis behavior presented by a 10 years old child. The instrument was used as an indicative of target behaviors because the scales presented as having high scores (somatic complains, tough problems, anxiety/depression, aggressive behaviors, and social problems) acted as clues for further investigations on functional analysis. Based on these analyses, we defined intervention strategies, considering behaviors classes that needed to be addressed.

Keywords : Instruments; Functional analysis; Encopresis; CBCL.
