Abstract

MANDELBAUM, Belinda. In search of a meeting: the hermeneutic method in Social Psychology research. Temas psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.20, n.1, pp. 227-234. ISSN 1413-389X.

Starting from a definition of the Social Psychology field as a place where not only the psychic and the social are integrated in an indissoluble way, but also where the various theories produced about men and the concrete experience of human life are integrated, the author proposes Hermeneutics as a method of research in Social Psychology that opens the possibility of an encounter between the researcher and the researched subject in which new knowledge may be produced. For this, she uses the notion of an hermeneutic circle, which integrates the knowledge of the objective conditions of production in each research with the interpretative comprehension of the human expressions in this field.

Keywords : Social Psychology; Research; Hermeneutics.
