Abstract

LIMA, Ana Izabel Oliveira et al. The challenge of building care comprehensive mental health in the context of the primary care. Temas psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.1, pp. 71-82. ISSN 1413-389X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.9788/TP2013.1-05.

This study aimed to analyze the care that Family Health Teams play on users' mental health. As a theoretical-methodological approach we take to Institutional Analysis. The research was conducted with three Family Health Teams of a municipality in the metropolitan region of Natal / RN. We conducted semi-structured interviews and participant observation of everyday Unit. We point out the elements instituted: the precariousness of working ties hindering the construction of the link and accountability, unthinking reproduction of technical knowledge about psychiatric diagnoses, playing practical routing and medicalization. The instituting processes to be invested: the broadening of the concept of mental health and illness, recognizing the need for extended listening in care, the glimpse of the host individual, group and / or family as important practice of care, the need for shared care following logic support. The results indicate the need to invest in permanent formations, discussing the importance of mental health care in Primary Care through territorial overlapping logic of specialization.
