Abstract

SILVEIRA, Fernando. Fique vivo: citizenship and aids prevention among youth incarcerated population - reflections of a practice. Temas psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.3, pp. 723-733. ISSN 1413-389X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.9788/TP2013.3-EE03PT.

This experience report aims to relate a work with male incarcerated adolescents. The objectives had initially focused on STD /AIDS prevention, but the work needed to be reoriented to discuss the life of adolescents living in poverty and the relationship they have with life: their own life and the lives of others. This was the basis to work with more specific prevention efforts. This work was only possible from the moment the reality of these young people could be heard and the proposed activities could take into account the subjectivity of their condition and their high level of individual, social, and programmatic vulnerability. The work has always involved beyond the young, the various institutional actors involved in socio-educational work. In many cases, those who should be responsible for reducing the vulnerability of young people end up increasing it when they don't perform their tasks.

Keywords : Adolescents; prisioners; aids prevention and control.
