TERROSO, Lauren Bulcão; WENDT, Guilherme Welter; OLIVEIRA, Margareth da Silva  y  ARGIMON, Irani Iracema de Lima. Social skills and bullying in adolescents. Temas psicol. [online]. 2016, vol.24, n.1, pp. 251-259. ISSN 1413-389X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.9788/TP2016.1-17.

This study aimed to investigate the association between involvement with bullying, either as a victim or aggressor, and social skills (SS). The sample was composed of 487 adolescents selected from public and private schools from a city in the countryside of Brazil. Results showed that students involved with bullying behaviors had lower repertoire of SS in the most aspects of this construct. For each unit of increase in total percentile of SS frequency, was expected a decline of 4.3% in the probability of an adolescent to a bullying aggressor. Likewise, for each unit increase in the percentiles of 'assertiveness frequency' and 'affective approach frequency', there is an increase of 2.0 and 2.6 in the probability of the student to practice bullying, respectively. However, a low repertoire of SS is associated with involvement in bullying, either as victim or aggressor.
