Abstract

STACHIU, Mariana  and  TAGLIAMENTO, Grazielle. Career coaching and community social psychology: analysis of an intervention. Temas psicol. [online]. 2016, vol.24, n.3, pp. 791-804. ISSN 1413-389X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.9788/TP2016.3-01.

This research aimed to develop and investigate a career coaching intervention group, with students of an institution of higher education in Curitiba/PR. Eight coaching group sessions were conducted with the students, aimed to develop the employability of participants and make a career plan. Before and after the intervention, semi-structured interviews were conducted. Data from the interviews, as well as the intervention itself, were analyzed and will be presented in this article. The proposed intervention facilitated greater knowledge about the labor market, providing an opportunity and new ways of thinking about profession. It was noted that the process of group career coaching proved useful, since it helped to broaden the participants' self-knowledge as well as to provide awareness and reflection on the phenomena that involve professional career. The principles used, which permeate community social psychology, favored the group process, self-knowledge, awareness, harmony and solidarity of members, contributing to the ending results.
