Abstract

GONDAR, Jô. Sexualities: borders, boundaries, thresholds. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2014, vol.36, n.31, pp. 51-68. ISSN 1413-6295.

The article aims at examining the values embedded in psychoanalytic theories of sexuality, by questioning, in particular, the sexual difference as the matrix of subjectivation and culture. It starts from contemporary gay demands for the study of the sexual difference issue in Freud, in Lacan, in structuralism (Héritier) and in the queer movement. It discusses the consequences of thinking about difference through the notions of boundaries, limits or thresholds. It ends by distinguishing, in the field of sexualities, a logical thought built on the limits (beyond) of the paradoxes of potential space (not yet).

Keywords : Sexuality; sexual difference; gay; queer; potential space.
