Abstract

ARANTES, Urias. Enjoy it!: Thinking about the New Psychological Economy. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2014, vol.36, n.31, pp. 95-113. ISSN 1413-6295.

This paper intends to examine Charles Melman and Jean-Pierre Lebrun's work in their effort to indicate the clinical and theoretical effects of the decline of patriarchy and the resurgence of matriarchy ( or the maternal) on social bonds and on the new ways of subjectivation and transmission. It is suggested that the pertinence of those analyses should not conceal the minor attention paid to the democratic process and, thus, to the political dimension that cannot ignored by Psychoanalysis. This is all the more important when considering Psychoanalysis as an intrinsic part of the democratic adventure.

Keywords : New Psychological Economy; democracy; patriarchy; matriarchy.
