Abstract

AZEVEDO, Luciana Jaramillo Caruso de; FERES-CARNEIRO, Terezinha  and  LINS, Samuel Lincoln Bezerra. Child symptom: effect of psychic transmission?. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2014, vol.36, n.31, pp. 169-196. ISSN 1413-6295.

The present article aims at reflecting on the concept of psychic transmission among generations and its contribution to the constitution of children's symptoms. Due to the structural articulation between the child's symptom and the parental discourse and desires, we can put in relief that a child's symptom responds to an unconscious parental demand. However, one cannot lose sight of the notion that the symptom also indicates a subject's choice. Hence, in this work we discuss the importance of considering child's symptomatology beyond the medical perspective.

Keywords : Child symptoms; psychoanalytical theory; psychic transmission.
