MELLO NETO, Gustavo Adolfo Ramos  y  NAKAMURA, Telry Shodyi. Media, violence and trauma: the case of Isabella Nardoni under a psychoanalytical view. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2015, vol.37, n.33, pp. 105-127. ISSN 1413-6295.

This article seeks to analyze violence exposition by the media in the light of the Theory of General Seduction. Through the analysis of journalistic material developed on the murder of Isabella Nardoni, we present an interpretation on the media narrative of the case as well as the interest in violence by the audience. Our hypothesis is that the media release information that may cause pleasure, repression, and threat of trauma as well as employ a narrative to propose a sort of elaboration of possible daily traumas of the public, providing simplified explanations for complex issues. In addition, through violence, the media seeks to seduce the audience, who may react to this seduction with pleasure and, sometimes, violence.

Palabras clave : Psychoanalysis; Violence in the media; Trauma; Theory of general seduction.
