Abstract

ROBERT, Priscila Frehse Pereira  and  KUPERMANN, Daniel. On bearing hate, on bearing one's own hate: R. N. and S. I. cases and the limits of Ferenczi's clinical treatment. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2015, vol.37, n.33, pp. 175-193. ISSN 1413-6295.

This study investigates Ferenczi's propositions on transference management in face of the risk of traumatic recurrence in the clinical treatment. The course of the inquiry addresses the questioning of the analyst's position from the early writings of Ferenczi, as well as the clinical problems that led to his theory of trauma and identification with the aggressor and the proposition of elasticity in psychoanalytical technique. To illustrate the close relationship between theoretical construction and clinical research, R. N. (Elisabeth Severn) and S. I, cases of Ferenczi's Clinical Diary, are covered, thus demonstrating the necessary implication of the analyst in the clinical management when traumatic hate recurs in the transference, in search of symbolization.

Keywords : Transference; Trauma; Hate; Management; S. Ferenczi (1873-1933); Psychoanalysis.
