MISSONNIER, Sylvain. Genesis and epistemological issues in perinatal clinical psychology. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2016, vol.38, n.34, pp. 61-89. ISSN 1413-6295.

The exploration of the recent genesis and the epistemological issues in perinatal clinical psychology requires a reminder of the matrix source of clinical psychology that is defined by its double-sided object: the exploration of the psychic reality of everyday conscious / unconscious, subjective / intersubjective situation of the subject in its individual / group s "normal" / "pathological" forms ; the practical implementation of intersubjective encounters devices suitable for observing associative processuality, be it verbal / nonverbal, focal / free, and for making sense subjectivating its phenomenology and its inhibiting or dissociative conflicting constraints. The clinical methodology of this psychic reality is inseparable from its implementation in all cross-players. Therefore, the first face of the object of perinatal clinical psychology will be the exploration of daily psychic conscious / unconscious, subjective / intersubjective reality of the subject who is (again) becoming a parent, who is born as human and caregiver, under "normal" / "pathological", individual, couple and group forms. The second face of the object of the perinatal clinical psychology is the attention to opportunities for parents and caregivers to benefit from intimate, private and institutional environments suitable for metabolizing this amplification of the verbal and nonverbal associative processuality (somatic, in particular) inherent to biopsychic transformations in parentalisation as well as in its professional support. The heuristic promise of perinatal clinical psychology is discussed.
