Abstract

GUIMARAES, Ana Rosa Gonçalves de Paula. The melancholy and depressions: biopower, the meaning productions and speeches. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2016, vol.38, n.34, pp. 93-111. ISSN 1413-6295.

The aim of this study is to present the productions of sense of melancholy and depression, from a brief history of psychoanalytic studies Fédida (2009), Dunker (2015), Kehl (2009), among others. For this, it started with the concepts of history, speech, social construction of meaning and truth of will, proposed by Foucault (1979; 1995). In support of reading about the understanding of it would be depression today, a survey was conducted on the semantic displacement of the term, ideologies permeated by excess diagnosis and excess of medication as well as historicossocial context of hyper, which circumscribes and names some of their social subjects as depressed.
