Abstract

PENNA, Carla. The affections field: sources of suffering, sources of recognition. Personal and collective dimensions. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.37, pp. 11-27. ISSN 1413-6295.

This article introduces a reflection on how affections, emotions and feelings are linked to intersubjective and trans-subjective phenomena, pointing to the fact that they can not only influence, but also shape the social structures in different dimensions. It explores, in the interface of psychoanalysis, sociology and philosophy the influence of affections in the determination of forms and sources of personal and social suffering in contemporaneity. In addition, it highlights the possible forms and sources of recognition available today, seeking to involve the psychoanalyst in an ethical commitment as a caretaker, through which the recognition of otherness can be promoted.

Keywords : Affections field; Personal and social suffering; Contemporaneity; Recognition.
