Abstract

PEREIRA, Douglas Rodrigo. The traumatolytic function of dreams by drug use in drug addiction. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.37, pp. 115-134. ISSN 1413-6295.

In this article, my objective is to reflect on the nature of dreams by drug use in drug addiction. Through fragments of a clinical case, it is a matter of articulating those dreams with Ferenczi's postulates about the dream experience. The traumatolytic function of dreams will be focused here. Would we be facing an elaborative repetition of the trauma? Could the drug be understood as an external element, embedded in this series of replications seeking for elaboration? I examine, briefly and in a panoramic way, the following points: 1) Freud's dream theories; 2) the trauma in Ferenczi and 3) the traumatolytic function of dreams.

Keywords : Drug addiction; Trauma; Dreams; Traumatolytic function of dreams; Ferenczi; Psychoanalysis.
