Abstract

SILVA, Lillian Nathalie Oliveira da  and  HENRIQUES, Rogério da Silva Paes. Symbolic representations of money in Freudian theory. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.37, pp. 169-183. ISSN 1413-6295.

In everyday situations, money appears as having a marked relevance and it is difficult to delimit a context in which it is not directly/indirectly involved. Economic studies indicate that rationality against money is limited and insufficient in the face of financial behavior. Considering the importance with which it is coated the article intends to cover how money is treated in the Freudian work, through a re-reading of the articles in which Freud deals directly with the monetary question. In Freud, the money appears permeated by several symbolizations, permanently attaching itself to the different mechanisms of the psychic apparatus.

Keywords : Freud; Money; Trieb; Symbolization.
