Abstract

FERREIRA, Esther de Sena  and  DANZIATO, Leonardo José Barreira. Psychological violence in the light of psychoanalysis: case study. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.40, pp. 149-168. ISSN 1413-6295.

This article shows the discussion and results of a research on the question about the violence against women, its subjective effects, but especially we seek to investigate the reasons why some women remain in marital relationships in which they experience psychological violence. The research was executed in the Domestic and Family Violence Court of Fortaleza/CE, where we were able to develop case studies, which allowed us to discuss how great this behavior of violence is and its consequences. In this study, we present one of these case studies, named "Ana", from which we develop our propositions. We use the contributions of Freud and Lacan regarding female sexuality, femininity and the choice of the loving object in women. The strangeness that motivates us to this research work is the confirmation that some women still remain in these relationships, where they experience violence on the part of the partner, even though they may have access to the use of legal and assistance mechanisms that provide legal and psychological support to these women.

Keywords : Domestic violence against women; Femininity; Female sexuality; Psychoanalysis.
