Abstract

SANTOS, Dayanna Pereira dos. Psychic apparatus, memory and the notion of time in the first texts of Freud: on the vicissitudes of language. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.41, pp. 21-37. ISSN 1413-6295.

This paper discusses the implications of psychic apparatus, memory and time in early psychoanalysis, considering the notion of a posteriori evoked by Freud (1894) through the German term nachträglich. Such a proposition requires a reflection on the notion of memory developed in the Letter 52 (1896/1996) according to which there are several records of memory in which the same content, over time, could be inscribed and transcribed according to distinct associative principles of language. From this point of view, memory has as its quality the immediate non-recovery of its content, and from that comes an appropriate autonomy with respect to the elements of consciousness.

Keywords : Psychic apparatus; Language; Memory; Time.
