The present article is a result of an ongoing research, performed in the interface of psychoanalysis, education and social sciences, concerning psychic suffering in adolescence and its expressions in the educational institutions, interrogating it in what it has to reveal about the status of social bonding at the present time. The article presents a workshop that took place in two public schools of the state of Rio de Janeiro, focusing on the construction of an analytical hearing device in the collective as a clinical and political tool. From that, it weaves some considerations about the relative impasses of social bonding in schools and how it articulates with the helplessness expressed in words and actions by the adolescents.
