OLIVEIRA, Marcos de Moura. Contributions of the active technique to the psychoanalytic clinic. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.44, pp. 191-202. ISSN 1413-6295.

The present article makes the conceptual rescue of the active technique, present in the clinic of Sándor Ferenczi in the twenties, which was the result of his work with borderline cases demonstrating that his main idea is inserted in the traditional context of the psychoanalytic clinic, as well as recommendations for its use and therapeutic possibilities. The active technique, as described by Ferenczi, is a way of summoning the patient to the activity itself, through transference, causing the latter to have a greater expenditure of libido in the analytical process, and thus to become more faithfully involved in the process, following the principle of libidinal investment. The exhibition continues to demonstrate the role of the active technique as an aid to free association and as a possible tool for the analyst in his praxis.
